Field Notes Since 2001

Trevor Lake Caravan & Camping opened for its first full season in 2001, when the family converted a former grazing field into 38 touring pitches and a simple amenity block. It is still run by hand, with careful arrivals, winter repairs and quiet hours held as seriously as bookings.

There is no clubhouse, no arcade and no late music. The promise is simpler: a clean pitch, a clear rule book and enough room to hear the lake settle after dusk.

Owner's Long Note

We have been asked more than once why the site has not become bigger, louder or easier to book at any cost, and the answer is mostly in the ground. A wet Welsh spring can look green and ready from the lane while the first few inches still hold water, so the first cut of the season matters because it tells us where the mower sinks, where the tyres mark and which corners need another week of wind before they should carry a heavy touring unit. We would rather turn a booking away than put a long van on soft grass, then spend the next three days towing, raking and apologising to the family who came for a quiet lake edge. That is why arrivals are slow, why reception may ask for your unit length twice, and why a pitch that was free on paper can still be rested if the field says no.

01 Dogs £3 per dog per night, maximum 2 per pitch. 02 Fire bowl hire £12 with first net of kiln-dried logs. 03 Lake access is by carried craft only, no vehicle margin access. 04 Recycling is sorted beside the waste bay. 05 Generators are not allowed because sound carries across the water.
